Mobile App - Experiences

The following instructions will walk you through how to access your tour package using Ride with GPS, navigating routes, and accessing guide content. You'll likely receive an email from your tour operator containing either a shortcut code to enter or a QR image. You will use that code to download and access all your content.

 

Access Your Tour Package

Download the mobile app and enter shortcut

  1. Download the mobile app for free via the iTunes app store or Google Play store.
  2. Tap Open Shortcut
  3. You can type in the Shortcut or scan QR image you were provided.
  4. You’ll be prompted to download the Experience. Tap Download to begin.

    This download will contain all your routes, maps, and guide pages. Downloading your content will make the content available 100% offline.

 

Access your tour package when signed in

If you already have the app installed and you are signed in, there is no need to sign out to access your tour package.
  1. From your home screen, tap More in the lower right.
  2. Tap Open Shortcut from the menu
  3. You can type in the Shortcut or scan QR image you were provided.
  4. You’ll be prompted to download the Experience. Tap Download to begin.

    This download will contain all your routes, maps, and guide pages. Downloading your content will make the content available 100% offline. You may get back to your account at any time by tapping the menu tray, then Return to account.

 

Navigate Your Tour Routes

Start Navigation from the Experience Homepage

  1. Tap View Routes to view all available routes
  2. From the route list, Select the Route the route you'd like to navigate
  3. On the route preview screen, tap Navigate
  4. The first time you tap Navigate, you will have to give permissions to access the GPS for Navigation to work properly.

Start Navigation from a Guide page

Your provider may add the Experience's routes to a Guide page.
  1. Tap the Guide page
  2. Tap the route name
  3. On the route preview screen, tap Navigate
  4. The first time you tap Navigate, you will have to give permissions to access the GPS for Navigation to work properly.

 

Finish Navigation

  1. When finished riding and you want to end navigation, press and hold the pause button
  2. Tap Finish Navigation
  3. This will give you the options to view your activity or return to the Experience.

Access Your Guide Content

Guide Pages

You can view the guide pages that will show important information such as schedule, addresses, links and phone numbers.

 

Links will be highlighted and opened in your phone’s default browser.

Phone numbers will also be underlined and will open in the dialer when tapped.

 

Save Your Rides

Sync Your Rides

You can save any of your recorded rides by creating an account or signing into your existing account.
  1. From the home screen, tap the menu icon.
  2. Tap View Activities to see your recorded rides.
  3. If you are not signed in you will see the Learn More button.
  4. When you tap Learn More you can then tap Sign Up if you need to create a new account or tap Log In to sign into your existing account.
  5. Once you are signed in, tap Library, then Rides, then tap the rides you would like to upload to your account. This will require access to the internet.

 

Re-access an Experience

If you originally accessed your Experience while logged into the Ride with GPS app or created an account after accessing your Experience, you can re-access by tapping the Experience title card on your home screen.

GPS Device Users

We offer two ways to access route files to load to your device. 

Export GPX files from the mobile app

You can export individual route gpx files from the Ride with GPS app after you have accessed your Experience. 

  1. When viewing a route, tap the three dots in the upper right
  2. Choose Export GPX

This gpx file can now be sent to any number of companion apps directly to your paired devices via Bluetooth connection.

  • Garmin users can simply SAVE the GPX file within Garmin Connect, then use the three-dot menu in the upper right to select SEND TO DEVICE to load the route onto your paired device.
  • Wahoo users will open the GPX into the Wahoo ELEMNT companion app, SAVE and SYNC once the route displays within the app, then SYNC on your paired Wahoo device to load the route.

Export GPS files from Share Page

You can export one or all of the routes within the Experience from the share page provided by your organizer.

To export a route an individual route, click the download icon next to the route you'd like to export. To export all routes in the Experience, click Export All. This will download a single zip file containing all the routes. Routes are downloaded as TCX files, which can be loaded onto any GPS device.

Mobile FAQ:

  • Does navigating or using this app require data or an internet connection?
    • No. Once you have successfully downloaded your Experience, everything is made available offline. You'll be able to access the home page, guide, and navigate routes completely from airplane mode.
  • I have an older phone. What version of iOS or Android is needed to use this option?
    • For an iPhone you'll need to be able to run iOS 11.2 or higher. For Android you will need to be able to run OS 5.0.x or higher.
  • Will I have to download the shortcut every time I want to navigate?
    • You will not have to download anything else so long as you don't clear your app cache or delete the app.
  • Will I have to purchase anything else?
    • Nothing. Everything within your Experience package is made available to you 100% free of charge thanks to your provider.
  • Will I have all the routes and maps downloaded at once?
    • All the routes, maps, and guide pages for the Experience are downloaded in one package so you will have access to all the info you need even if you aren't on a cellular network.
  • It tells me “Invalid Code”, what now?
    • It’s possible the organizer has disabled the package. Check the code and try again or use the QR scanner. If you continue to have issues, please confirm the code you were sent.
  • Can I save and view my rides?
